This website was independently conceived, designed and developed by Marcus Rossknecht using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript, with the assistance of AI-based development tools.
It is independently hosted on webspace provided by STRATO in Germany. No advertising networks, third-party analytics or marketing trackers are used.
I try to keep both the website and the collection of personal data as simple as possible.

When you access one of these websites, technically necessary information is processed by the hosting provider in order to deliver the requested content and maintain the security and reliability of the service.
This information may include your IP address, date and time of access, requested pages or files, browser and operating system information and referrer information.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on the legitimate interest in providing a secure and reliable website.
Visitor statistics
To understand which pages and journal entries are read, I use a simple statistics tool that I built myself. It runs on my own webspace at STRATO; no data is passed on to third parties.
For each page view it records the page visited, the referring website or link source (for example "Instagram"), the device type (mobile or desktop), how long the page stayed open and how far it was scrolled.
To count visitors without cookies, a pseudonymous identifier is calculated from your IP address and browser information. This identifier changes every day, so visits on different days cannot be linked. Your IP address itself is not stored.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on the legitimate interest in understanding how the websites are used. The data is kept only as long as it is needed for this purpose.
You can switch off these statistics for your browser at any time by opening this link: https://marcusrossknecht.com/?notrack=1 – a small cookie then tells the website not to count your visits.
Cookies and local storage
These websites do not use cookies for analytics, advertising or user profiling.
No third-party analytics services such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel are used.
The only cookie is the opt-out cookie described above, which is set only if you choose to switch off the statistics.
The music player on marcusrossknecht.com remembers the current track and playback position in your browser's local storage, so the music can continue when you open another page. This information stays on your device and is not sent to me. The legal basis is Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG.
Fonts
All fonts used on marcusrossknecht.com are stored on my own webspace and loaded from there. No connection to Google Fonts or other external font services is made.

Email updates
You can sign up for occasional email updates about music, projects, events and collaborations on marcusrossknecht.com. For this I store your email address, your first name if you provide it, and the date of your sign-up on my own webspace at STRATO. The legal basis is your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
I also send such updates to professional contacts and people who have asked to receive them.
Contact information is managed independently and is not sold to or shared with advertising networks.
You can unsubscribe or withdraw your consent at any time by replying to any of these emails or by writing to marcus@groovescript.com. Your email address will then no longer be used for these communications and will be removed from the list.
Where consent is required for such communication, emails are sent only on the basis of the applicable legal requirements.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right, where the respective legal requirements are met, to request access to your personal data, correction or deletion of your data, restriction of processing and data portability.
You also have the right to object to processing of your personal data that is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, and to withdraw any consent you have given, with effect for the future.
